NSW Small Business Rebate

Did you know you could be eligible for a $500 rebate if you buy and install eligible safety equipment to address a safety problem in your workplace?


This rebate provides up to $500 to eligible small business owners and sole traders in NSW who buy and install equipment to make their workplace safer. This can also assist in covering the installation of items to address COVID safety measures.

Eligibility

Are you a small business (less than 50 employees) or sole trader?


Do you conduct a commercial business producing goods or providing services in NSW?


Is your business registered in NSW and does it come within the scope of the work health and safety legislation in NSW?


You can only apply once. Make sure you have not already received a small business rebate from SafeWork or WorkCover NSW.

What Next

Register and attend an eligible SafeWork NSW safety workshop, webinar, program, event, or have an advisory visit from a SafeWork NSW officer. 


The quickest and most convenient way is to watch a free, online 30 min SafeWork NSW video (also called a “webinar”).

Ensure that it has the following comment in the description: “By attending this webinar you may be eligible to receive a small business rebate up to the value of $500.”


When the webinar is complete, print out the certificate that is displayed at the end.

TIP

You must have attended one of the SafeWork events or webinars or had an advisory visit BEFORE you purchase your items and must apply to claim your rebate within 12 months of attending one of these events/visits.

  • Portable hand sanitiser stations*
  • Fixed hand sanitiser stations*
  • Fixed disinfectant wipes dispenser*
  • Safety signs for COVID-19 workplace arrangements e.g. fixed hand sanitiser stations and disinfectant wipes stations
  • Bins with hands free lid operation (foot pedal or sensor)*
  • Sneeze/ cough guards
  • Roller cleaning buckets
  • Chemical storage
